HIA Chief Economist :  Pat and myself have recently  attended  two  seminars presented by HIA Chief Economist  Dr Haley Dale and Master Builders outlook 2016.   It has been a positive year for the coast builders with outlook for the next 18 months looking more of the same. It is believed with the Sydney and Melbourne market softening investors will look to new opportunities in our region.

Permits issued over 12 months for the Sunshine Coast: New dwelling building approvals

Permits issued for attached town houses and units :

 Dec 2014 561                      Dec 2015 : 1195.

Forecast for population on the Sunshine Coast :  currently 4,779,400 by 2050 the prediction is we will hit 8,242,590 ( figures supplied from the Australian Bureau of Statistics)  Sunshine coast seems to attract an older population than the Queensland average, with one in five 65 years or older. Sunshine Coast residents are also more likely to have paid of their home 33.85% ( Source: AB & Qld Govt statistician.)

The $1.8 billion Sunshine Coast University Hospital is the latest addition to a thieving health and age care sector, attracting big business to the coast and couple this with Aura , a three decade long project housing 50,000 people ,  the Sunshine coast airport expansion and the Maroochy new city centre we are looking pretty stable.
